Annual Town Meeting – POSTPONED

Update on the 2021 Annual Town Meeting
It is normally a requirement that the Annual Town Meeting assembles on any day between 1 March and 1 June (inclusive) in every year. However, in August 2020, the Covid-19 regulations were amended to remove the requirement for the annual parish meeting to assemble and due to ongoing uncertainty around the impact of social distancing restrictions, Exmouth Town Council’s Chairman, Councillor Steve Gazzard, has made the difficult decision, once again, to postpone the Annual Town Meeting which was due to take place on the evening of Monday 22nd March 2021.

Councillor Steve Gazzard said: “Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, as Chairman, I have reluctantly decided to postpone this year’s Annual Town Meeting which was due to be held in March. This will be the second year that this meeting has been cancelled or postponed and I can only apologise as I do really appreciate how the residents of Exmouth look forward to this opportunity to put questions to the Town Council. I do hope that when the Covid-19 regulations ease, it may be possible to rearrange this meeting for later in the year.”

There are still plenty of opportunities for members of the public to engage with the work of the Town Council; our Full Council meetings are being held virtually but still provide an opportunity for public participation in respect of any item on the agenda. Information pertaining to our Committees and working parties is also available on our website, together with Councillor contact details.
